Almost all adult students want to play piano simply as a hobby, and
they're not interested in investing years of work or thousands of dollars into the process.
A quick course, a short book, or an app seem like the logical ways to learn to play the songs they want to play.
There's just one problem.
THEY DON'T WORK
Playing the piano requires a certain basic level of
knowledge and physical skills.
(Even when playing "just for fun.")
FACT:
After trying these courses, books, and apps, the vast majority of
adult pianists are still not able to play the piano.
And they conclude that they are
JUST TOO OLD
OR
DON'T HAVE TALENT
Nope, that's not it at all.
Age and talent don't determine success in piano.

Learn The Language Of Music
Knowing the basics of reading music notation, understanding how chords and scales are the foundations of all music, becoming familiar with different rhythms - these skills give you a working knowledge of the language of music and allow you to understand, remember, and perform the mental and physical aspects of playing the piano.
Develop Healthy Technique
Technique - the ability to move hands and fingers at the piano - is the least talked about (but most important) piece of the piano-playing puzzle. Teaching the body how to move in a natural, healthy way at the piano allows pianists to play fast, have hand and finger independence, have coordination between the hands, and play without pain.
Use An Effective Practice System
Long practice sessions are not necessary for most pianists, and can be counterproductive, leading to injury, frustration and burnout.
